I’m planning to build a clapping switch circuit today. LED will illuminate as soon as we clap. The circuit is incredible. I’ll be using the LM555 IC and the C945 transistor to build this circuit.
Step 1: Components Required
- IC – LM555 x1
- Microphone x1
- Battery – 9V x1
- Battery clipper x1
- Resistor – 100K x1
- Resistor – 1K x1
- Resistor – 56K x1
- Capacitor – 25V 10uf x1
- Transistor – C945 x1
- LED – 4V x1
Step 2: Circuit Diagram
All parts should be connected in accordance with the circuit schematic.
Step 3: Connect Pin-4 and Pin-8 of LM555 IC
- First, we need to use jumper wire to connect the LM555 IC’s pins.
- Pins 4 and 8 on the LM555 IC should be connected as shown.
Step 4: Connect 10uf Capacitor
- Next, connect the 10uf capacitor’s +ve pin to pins 6 and 7 of the IC.
- Connect the 10uf capacitor’s -ve pin to pin 1 of the IC as shown in the illustration.
Step 5: Connect 100K Resistor
- Connect a 100K resistor between the capacitor’s +ve pin and pin 8 of the IC.
Step 6: Connect C945 Transistor
- Next solder emmiter pin of transistor to pin-1 of LM555 IC and
- As seen in the image, the transistor’s collector pin is connected to pin-2 of the LM555 IC.
Step 7: Connect 1K Resistor
- Install a 1K resistor as illustrated in the image between pins 2 and 4 of the IC.
Step 8: Connect 56K Resistor
- As shown in the image, wire a 56K ohm resistor to the base pin of the transistor and pin-4 of the LM555 integrated circuit.
Step 9: Connect Wires of LED
- Connect the LED’s positive wire to pin 3 on the LM555 IC, and
- Solder the LED’s negative pin to pin 1 of the IC.
Step 10: Connect Battery Clipper Wire
- Connect the battery clipper’s positive wire to pin 4 of the IC next.
- -ve wire to IC pin 1 as shown in the illustration by soldering.
Step 11: Connect Microphone
The microphone’s wires must now be connected. Solder the microphone’s +ve wire to the transistor’s base pin, and -ve wire from the microphone to IC pin 1.
Step 12: How to Use This Clapping Circuit
Connect the battery to the battery clipper, then clap near the microphone to see the LED glow as you do so.
Conclusion
The LM555 IC and C945 transistor can be used to create a clapping circuit of this type. Superkitzwill be back soon with more informative blogs soon.
